MAKE YOUR HOME SAFER, WARMER AND QUIETER

Why Choose SolarFrame Bay or Bow Windows

The difference between bay and bow windows is simply in the number and angle of panes.

A bay window is typically three glazing areas (but can have more), with the middle window area being the larger ‘picture window’ – they sit at between a 25–45 degree angle.

A bow window is more symmetrical and made up of four or five glazed areas, fitted at a 10 degree angle, giving them a beautiful curved shape, ideal for those panoramic views.

Both bay and bow windows can follow the brick feature of your home, or can simply just protrude from your home.

Upgrade Your Home With Bay & Bow Windows

Creating a brighter, more spacious home has never been easier with SolarFrame’s bay and bow windows. Uniquely crafted to form an elegant picture window effect, both bay and bow windows can extend the main wall of the property to maximise natural light and provide additional internal space to upgrade your home’s kerb appeal.

Both bay and bow windows offer unique styles to ensure your home gets the upgrade it deserves. Bay windows typically feature three glazed sections, with a large middle section for picturesque views, all set at a 25- 45 ° angle. Bow windows, on the other hand, create a softer, more symmetrical finish for your home, featuring up to five glazed panels set at a 10° angle. Both styles can easily follow the existing brickwork of your home, or protrude beyond the property, depending on the style you are looking for.

Each of our bay and bow windows is incredibly energy efficient, achieving U-values as low as 0.8/m²K, with double or triple glazing available, to help improve your home’s insulation and energy costs. With multi-point locking systems, we also ensure that your property is protected at all times.

Choose from a variety of styles, finishes and glazing to create your dream home, and take advantage of our flexible finance options to create bespoke windows you can be proud of in no time.

Here's some of our most frequently asked questions...

What are bay & bow windows?

Bay and bow windows are specific styles which project outwards from the exterior wall of your home. They are particularly popular for creating additional interior space and allowing more natural light to enter the room.

Typically, bay windows consist of three glazing panels, with the side panels sitting between 25 and 45 degrees. Bow windows, on the other hand, are much more symmetrical and are made up of four or five glazing panels at a 10-degree angle.

What are the benefits of bay & bow windows?

Both bay and bow windows offer increased natural light into the home and create the illusion of a larger space. They can improve ventilation throughout the home and enhance the natural kerb appeal of your property.

Bay windows often provide a more modern finish to your home for an attractive focal point, while bow windows add a more traditional finish to a property with exceptional panoramic views.

Are bay & bow windows energy efficient?

Absolutely; both bay and bow windows are available with double or triple glazing, alongside thermally efficient frames to reduce heat loss and improve the natural insulation of the property. They can also guarantee efficiency with the lowest U-value of 0.8 W/m²K achievable, for a comfortable indoor temperature all year round.

Can bay windows make a room appear larger?

One of the main advantages of bay windows is their ability to extend a room by projecting outward from the property. By creating additional floor space, they also allow more natural light into the room, which can help to make the interior space feel larger and more open.

Are bay & bow windows secure?

Bay and bow windows are incredibly secure, as they are fitted with high-security locking systems and durable frames to provide excellent protection against forced entry. Paired with toughened glazing, you can be assured that your home is secure.
