Last year, Sheffield personal trainer Nick Screeton, founder of LEP Fitness, contacted Yorkshire Garden Studios at SolarFrame to build his dream home gym. He said ”I always wanted a home gym, a place to keep myself and my family fit, and also a place to run my business.”
This week we spoke to Nick, asking him about his experience with SolarFrame and how he’s getting on in his new gym studio.
What made you want a home gym?
From the age of 8 I’ve always been into sport and fitness. As a child, I did karate lessons with my dad. I also played ice hockey for six years.
Fitness has always been a part of my life. I studied sports science at university, and when I left, I started a personal training business called LEP Fitness – based in Sheffield.
At 18 years of age, I had a goal/dream to eventually have a beautiful house with a home gym (a cool looking gym like you see these footballers have in their homes!)”.
Why did you choose SolarFrame?
“I looked at lots of different websites, contacted builders, etc., but then I came across Yorkshire Garden Studios sold exclusively by SolarFrame
I saw this home gym they had built, and a ‘light bulb’ went off… that’s what I want! Alongside this, I was extremely impressed with the reviews, so I went to visit their open air showsite in Goldthorpe, south Yorkshire
I was immediately impressed with the professionalism of the staff, the large manufacturing site, and the sleek-looking garden studios on display. I knew straight away that this is what I wanted; it was like everything just fell into place.
When I left SolarFrame in the car on the way home, I imagined having one of these beautiful studios in my garden. I could picture the weights, cardio equipment, and beautiful sliding doors wide open during the summer. The rest is history…”.
How has your home gym changed your life?
It’s been the best investment I’ve made – I love it and use it every day! It also enabled me to run my personal training business from home. I only have to walk 10 meters to work!
Thanks to the gym studio, I’ve been able to complete 35 x 1-1 personal training sessions per week, helping people in South Yorkshire to lose weight, get fit, boost mental health and lead a more exceptional quality of life.
I’m also grateful because while commercial gyms have closed during the lockdown, I’ve been able to keep myself in shape – I feel very fortunate.
