FAQs

Here are some of the questions we’re most frequently asked by our customers…

Do your products come with any guarantee?

SolarFrame offer a minimum of a 10 year guarantee on all products. SolarFrame replacement roofs are engineered and manufactured to exacting standards and carry a guarantee of 10 years from date of installation.

Where are your products manufactured?

All our products are proudly manufactured right here in Yorkshire at our state-of-the-art factory.

Will my existing conservatory be strong enough to hold a solid tiled roof?

Solid roofs do not greatly differ in weight to a traditional conservatory roof and therefore nine out of ten window frames are suitable to carry the weight. At point of order, our technical surveyor will visit your home to ensure that your existing frames are suitable, and if not we will provide solutions that will allow for your conservatory to be transformed.

Will I need to organise Building Regs/Planning Permission?

In most cases, you won’t need planning permission to replace your conservatory roof. However, building regulations approval is required, and we’ll take care of everything for you – from notifying Building Control to arranging your final certificate. Once approved, your conservatory will be classed as a fully compliant extension, which can help increase the value of your home.

If your project involves a new structure or a single-storey extension, planning permission may be needed – but don’t worry. our expert SolarFrame team will guide you through every step and manage all necessary applications on your behalf.

Will any SolarFrame products improve my energy bills?

Yes – many of our products are specifically designed to improve your home’s energy efficiency and help reduce your energy bills.

Our A-rated windows feature advanced glazing and insulated frames to minimise heat loss, while our composite doors provide excellent thermal performance and draught protection.

Upgrading to a lightweight tiled conservatory roof can also dramatically improve insulation, making your conservatory usable all year round and reducing the need for extra heating or cooling.

By keeping the warmth in and the cold out, SolarFrame products not only make your home more comfortable but could also lead to noticeable savings on your energy bills over time.
